Mr. D’Aquino has nearly 20 years of experience in the international development sector, having contributed to the design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of maternal, newborn and child health policies and programs through either long term assignments (Angola, Cambodia, Sudan, Mozambique), or through short term pieces of technical assistance to numerous countries in Africa and Asia.
He has sound, hands on technical knowledge in the area of health systems strengthening and of maternal, newborn and child health, including: community health; immunization; newborn and child health as well as emergency relief.
He also has substantial experience in facilitating the coordination between key stakeholders such as governments, donors, UN agencies, and civil society organizations.
He worked at Save the Children Italy and USA and also as a Senior Technical Officer in the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, before he joined UNICEF India as Chief of Health in 2019.
He completed his MSc from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London. He also did short courses in Tropical Epidemiology and Practical Epidemiology.
