Dr. Kumar is a Professor and Head of the Pharmacology department at AIIMS-New Delhi. Her research interests include the anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory mechanisms of drugs and botanicals and molecular biology of steroid receptors, regulation of receptors and its relevance in hormone dependent cancers.
She is also the Chief of the National Poison Information Centre (NPIC), which provides round the clock information on management of poisonings to health professionals and the general public.
She completed her MSc. and PhD from AIIMS, New Delhi.
